I changed from regular to synthetic and noted no change in the clutch operation or shifting ease. I continue to have problems with 4-5 shifts. I will continue to stick with synthetic for the heat and wear advantages. Walmart has 4-stroke Mobil 1 10W-40 at a decent price (at least my Walmart does).
